My “Safe Brantford” Pledge:
As a Ward 2 candidate for City Council, I recognize that public safety is the foundation of a prosperous, thriving community. With Brantford experiencing significant growth and increasing demands on our services, our first responders need proactive support, not just applause.
I pledge to the residents of Brantford that, if elected, I will:
- Prioritize Frontline Funding: I will support budgets that prioritize hiring and retaining enough Police, Fire, and Paramedic staff to keep up with city growth.
- Invest in Updated Equipment & Training: I will advocate for modern, reliable, and safe equipment for our firefighters and paramedics to ensure they can effectively handle complex calls and maintain their health.
- Support Mental Health & Addictions Support: I will work to ensure our emergency services have the resources needed to partner with community health providers for safer, more efficient emergency responses.
- Enhance Emergency Preparedness: I will support strengthening “Prepared Together” initiatives, ensuring our city is resilient in the face of weather emergencies or crises.
- Be a Vocal Advocate: I will be a tireless advocate for emergency personnel at the Council table, listening to their needs to ensure they have the tools to keep Brantford safe.
